PINTLER’S PORTAL HOSTEL GUEST POLICIES

Thank you for your reservation! We are delighted you chose to stay at Pintler’s Portal Hostel. 
The following policies are important. They are designed to make sure every PPH guest has the best possible experience. When you check into PPH, we assume you have read and will comply with this document. Please contact us if you have any questions. 

Reservation 

PPH is a short-term boutique accommodation designed to support people who value adventure, affordability and community. Our rooms are desgined for sleeping; our 3300 square foot lounge is designed for community - have adventures, meet people, make friends, cook meals!

Stays are limited to 7 nights per guest. Other arrangements can be made on a case-by-case basis; however, stays longer than 7 nights require a private room rental. When you make your reservation, we will charge your credit card and mark the reservation as confirmed. Your reservation is guaranteed until the day of arrival. Unless we have had other communications, the reservation will no longer be guaranteed after 10 p.m. of the first day, and the room may be reassigned. You will still be charged the amount of your stay. Should you choose to cancel your reservation, a confirmation of the same will be sent.
 For full facility rentals, we will collect one-half of your total fee to hold your reservation, and we will collect the remainder 30 days prior to your stay. 

Cancellation Policy

Life happens. To give us a chance to rebook the space taken by your reservation, please see the following cancellation policies:


For individual bed and private room bookings, cancellations made 2 days prior to your stay are 100% refundable. Cancellations of your reservation made at 2 days or less of your stay will incur the cost of the full cost of the reseration.

For full facility bookings, cancellations made 30 days prior to your stay are fully refundable. Cancellations made at 30 days or less of your stay are not refundable.

Your Bed
Unless you have rented a private room or the entire facility, you have rented one (1) bed for the night in a dormitory style room. All beds are twins in a double or triple bunk configuration. Unless you have rented a private room, there is a possibility that you may be sharing your room with another individual. We do stagger availability, however, so sharing is not necessary if there are beds available in other rooms.

Please be respectful of your and others’ belongings, using use half the space under the double bunks and saving the other half for whoever might rent the bed above or below you. If you are in a room with a triple bunk, pack your belongings conservatively and ensure there is equal space available for the subsequent two guests. Please DO NOT store or place your items on any of the other beds in the room. Another guest may come in at any time and may have that bed reserved for themselves. Should you need extra space to repack, we invite you to use the long table in the Spike Camp, which we maintain for that purpose.  If you find you need and want more space, you can rent a private room. 

WiFi
Free high speed WiFi is available in the building for our guests. Access information is posted the walls on both floors.

Towels and Linens

To maintain our price point, we provide each guest one set of towels (towel, hand towel, and wash cloth) every three days. Extra sets are available for a modest fee as posted on your room wall.. Guests get one set of sheets per 3-day reservation.  Bed linens, blankets, comforters and pillows are provided. 
 We do not allow the use of personal sleeping bags.

Parking Policy

These are several parking spots at the front and the back of our building available on a first-come first-serve basis. There is some street and public parking on adjacent streets. We also offer dedicated paid parking within a one block walk at a rate of a $10/day per vehicle. If your reservation involves 10 people or more, prior arrangements must be coordinated to ensure adequate parking. Please do not park in our neighboring businesses parking spots or lots at any time. 

Pet Policy

We have a conservative pet policy. On n a case-by-case basis we might allow you to bring your pet, for an extra fee, in the Hostel with a private room rental. Please contact us directly to review our specific pet policy and to make those arrangements.

Smoking Policy
Breathe easy. PPH is strictly a non-smoking/non-vaping property INSIDE and OUTSIDE. This applies to both traditional smoking methods and all electronic systems, including vapes, vaporizers, vape pens, hookah pens, electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes or e-cigs), e-pipes, and any variations of the same regardless of the product’s name. Violation of this policy of any kind, including smoking on the property or in the facility, the need to clean debris or take measures in a room to eliminate lingering odors, prevalence of odors or debris in the building in any way, or any other impacts of the practice including staff time and angst to deal with the issue, may result in ups to a $500 fee, a request to find other accommodations, and no refund.

Alcohol Policy
You are welcome to bring your own beverage and enjoy it in moderation the property. We maintain a strict quiet time policy of 10 PM - 7 AM.  No illicit drugs are allowed on or used on the facility. Guests, inebriated by any means, will be asked to leave with no refund.

ADA Policy
Pintler's Portal Hostel is ADA Compliant, offering one accessible parking spot, one guest room with a single or twin bunk depending on your preference, and an accessible bathroom and shower. ADA clients receive one complimentary load of laundry (we will wash and dry in a bag designed for that purpose; you will do your own folding). Unfortunately, our lounge and kitchen areas are located downstairs to which there is not an elevator.


Children

We adore your children - and our own! However, Pintler's Portal Hostel is designed for traveling adults. We can accommodate children under 18 if you rent the entire room in which you will be staying, and as long as there is one bed for each individual in the room (no one sleeping on the floor and no sleeping double). Should you want to make such a reservation, please confirm with PPH by calling 406-463-4555. Minors will not be left unaccompanied at the hostel. 


Guest Responsibilities 
We have worked hard to create an accommodation that saves you money and provides you an unique social and community experience. The price you pay relies heavily on your cooperation and consideration in living in a shared environment.  Please note, we are a hostel, and to maintain these prices, we do not provide room service. Guests are expected to:

  • Empty room trash daily (trash containers are outside the back door and new bags available under the one you just emptied)
  • Flush the toilet, twice if necessary. A brush is there for your convenience. 
  • Make sure the bathroom sinks are equally clean for the next user
  • Be present when doing laundry. There may be others behind you needing to use the laundry machines.
  • Clean the kitchen, counters, range, oven, microwave and dishes promptly after use. Feel free to rinse and load your dishes in the dishwasher, and start it if it is half to three-quarters full. There is dishwasher soap under the sink for that purpose. 
  • Take appropriate precautions to avoid unnecessarily soiling Hostel linens. Our having to replace them will increase the cost of everyone’s stay.
  • Remember that the TV/lounge area is available for everyone. If you’re using it please make room for others. Enjoy!
  • Keep the bedroom door closed.
  • Maintain outdoor areas in an orderly fashion.
  • Don’t see something you want or need? Ask! We’d be delighted to try to make it avialble to you.
Availability
Hostel staff are present most days from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. with some exceptions. Staff are available via telephone 24/7. Should you need assistance after business hours, please call 406-563-4555. The Hostel number is forwarded to our staff on call.
