If the old walls of Weinhaus Weiler could talk, they would certainly fill volumes of books with their stories!
Not only could the timbered house, built in 1552, recite the lives of six generations of the Weiler family, it could also share innumerable precious moments of so many people who came to the house as guests.
Having served as a residential building for more than 350 years, it was subject to a higher calling thereafter: it passed into ownership of the Weiler family in 1889 and was licensed as wine inn, distillery, cooperage and wine seller in 1905. The foundation for the hotel business was laid when Jacob Weiler installed the first seven guest rooms in 1935.
During 1980s, Trudel and Klaus Weiler took over the business had engaged in a continuous and loving renovation and modernization in order to stress the unique, romantic character of the house. Three new guest rooms have been refurnished on the second floor, which are now equipped with air conditioning.
Afterwards, in 2020, the business was unified with Hotel Römerkrug, which further expands to the additional five guest rooms in Marktplatz 1. The hotel is currently operated by a young and international generation of Oberwesel.
The strong and natural ties with the region, the romantic Middle Rhine Valley, are integral to our house and our concept: they express themselves in the close network and collaboration with partners we sustain on both sides of the river Rhine, and last but not least, in our strong involvement in the preservation and promotion of the World Heritage Site Upper Middle Rhine Valley in the Loreley valley.

BUSINESS & CHECK-IN HOURS
- Check-in time: 07:00 - 17:00, early or late check-in are possible at our on-site restaurant until 21:00. Please inform us in advance.
- Check-out time: 07:00 - 12:00
- Your reservation is guaranteed until on the day of arrival. After that time, it will no longer be guaranteed and the room may be reassigned.
- You have to be 18 years old and present to book a room.
- A valid photo ID is required upon check-in.
- All requests to reserve a room must include the first and last name of an adult occupying the room.
Reservations should be prepaid with Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express. or pre-paid debit cards. Upon check-in, a charge will be made on your credit card, or debit card for the total amount of the room and tax. Further restrictions may be applied depending on local authorities, for example: full contact address is required during Corona pandemic.
CANCELLATION POLICY FOR "STANDARD FLEXIBLE RATE"
Life happens. We get that. Reservations are fully refundable 2 days prior to check-in. Reservations cancelled within 2 days prior to check-in will be credited towards a future stay of equal or lesser value. To cancel a reservation, please call us at +49 6744 7003.
Hotel Römerkrug Weinhaus Weiler is a non-smoking property. This applies to both traditional smoking methods and all electronic delivery systems, including vapes, vaporizers, vape pens, hookah pens, electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes or e-cigs), e-pipes, and any variations of the foregoing regardless of the product’s name. Any smoking in the rooms or strong lingering smoking scents in rooms will result in a disappointed look and a 250 EUR room cleaning fee.
Pets are not allowed in the Hotel. Should your pet cause property or item damage, an incidental fee will be charged at replacement or repair value.
We want you to have a great time when you are here. But if things get too crazy, we go by the old-school rule of ‘you break it, you buy it’ and property damages or missing items will be charged to your credit card at market value. Pre-existing damages or room issues must be reported to the front desk immediately after registration to avoid responsibility and potential charges. The hotel allows guests, with permission, to receive occasional packages and special deliveries at the property. We are not responsible for the packages or their contents or the storage of them. Sing your heart out and have passionate conversation all day long, but from 23:00 to 7:00, the whole property goes into hush mode for what we like to call quiet time (or sleep time).
GUEST SAFETY POLICY
As part of our commitment to guest safety, employees will not disclose the identity, room number or presence of a guest to anyone other than appropriate law enforcement. This includes the taking of or delivery of messages or indirect forwarding of phone calls. It is the responsibility of guests to communicate their presence and room number to any person they wish to receive calls or visits from. Safety cameras are used throughout the premises, and anyone on our property may be recorded.
