Virginia Cliffe Inn is a Bed and Breakfast and Event Venue nestled among six acres of a semi-suburban neighborhood in Glen Allen, Virginia. The inn is located approximately 12 miles north of Virginia's state capital, the City of Richmond. Whether you are a local or traveling guest, Virginia Cliffe Inn is conveniently located just 1 mile from the I-295 and I-95 interstate junction, so it is easy to locate no matter what direction you are traveling from! The venue hosts events ranging from weddings, bridal and baby showers, holiday and cocktail parties, fundraisers, memorial services, corporate retreats, and other special celebrations.
The parlor, formal dining room, and dinette are
among several common areas available to guests. A shared kitchenette with a
refrigerator and microwave is also available. We encourage guests to
explore our property surrounded by gorgeous gardens. Guests can enjoy a cup of
coffee, tea or hot chocolate as they check out our pond which is home to our
resident swans, Romeo and Juliet! The Cultural Arts Center is a comfortable walking distance and offers displays open to the public. Crump Park is about a mile down the road and has historic
landmarks and descriptions displayed as well as pavilions, a playground, and a
pond for fishing. Countless restaurant’s, wineries, breweries, historic
landmarks, and entertainment venues are within driving minutes of our location.
Several museums, including the Science Museum and the Virginia Museum of Fine
Arts (VMFA), are in the City of Richmond which is about a 20-minute drive from
the bed and breakfast.
Virginia Cliffe Inn is a SWaM certified business in the heart of Glen Allen, Virginia (Henrico County). In 1950, James and Margaret Clifton purchased the property and in 1970 built their dream house which is now the manor house of Virginia Cliffe Inn. The Clifton's opened the Bed and Breakfast on January 1, 1998. Janice Clifton is the current owner and the daughter or James and Margaret.

Rates and Taxes:
Room prices vary and weekend rates (Friday and Saturday nights) are approximately 15% higher than weekday rates (Sunday - Thursday). When paying by credit card, there is a 4% fee. Rooms rates are based on double occupancy and the inn charges $30 per additional guest. Invite a non-lodging guest to join you at breakfast for $30. Taxes and fees of 18% are added to the total booking rate.
Payment Terms:
Credit card information is stored when a reservation is made; however, the card is not charged prior to check-in unless requested. Guests may pay with cash, check or a credit card upon check-in. There is an additional 4% fee when paying by credit card. It is important guests review our cancellation policy regarding payment.
Check-in and Check-out:
Check-in time is from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM and we can provide self-check-in instructions if you are unable to arrive before 8:00 PM.
The Virginia Cliffe Inn charges a $40 early check-in fee and guests may check-in as early as 2:00 PM, based on availability. Check-out time is 11:00 AM and the inn charges a $30 late check-out fee, and the latest check-out is at 12:00 PM. Please note that early check-in and late check-out must be arranged 24 hours prior to the arrival date.
Guest Rooms and Common Areas:
All guest rooms in the Manor House include a private bathroom, closet, dresser, a coffee/tea maker, cable TV, and free WIFI. Filtered or bottled water is provided in the guest room or foyer. Only registered guests are allowed access to the Manor House. Several common areas available to guests include the parlor, formal dining room, and kitchenette. The kitchenette is furnished with a refrigerator, freezer, ice maker, and microwave. We encourage guests to explore our property. Guests have use of the firepit on the outdoor patio from November to March. Enjoy a refreshing beverage as you stroll through the gardens and arrive at our pond which is home to our resident swans, Romeo and Juliet!
Parking:
A spacious parking lot is located to the left of the Manor House and is available, free of charge, to lodging guests.
Events:
Virginia Cliffe Inn is a popular event venue and hosts several outdoor events during weekends, however small events may also take place on weekdays. Kindly note that music and lights may be on until 11:00PM.. A representative will contact you via phone if an event is scheduled to take place during your stay. The inn guarantees all parties on the property do not co-mingle or interfere with parking availability or guest check-in. Likewise, event guests are not to disturb lodging guests.

Breakfast and Dietary Needs:
Breakfast is served at 8:30 AM; however, an earlier continental breakfast (fruit, yogurt, and pastries) can be arranged. Virginia Cliffe Inn is happy to accommodate your dietary needs! Vegetarian, gluten-free and other allergen-free options are available. Vegan options are also available however this preference may not complete an entire meal. Guests may invite a non-lodging guest to join you at breakfast for $30. Please contact us prior to your arrival to confirm dietary requirements and/or to add a non-lodging guests at breakfast.
Accessibility:
The Manor House at Virginia Cliffe Inn is not wheelchair accessible. The Glen Allen Suite and the Carriage House is the only guest room located on the first floor. All other rooms are on the second floor and require climbing stairs.
