Terms and Conditions
Booking
Only customers with the age 18 or higher can book a room in this Hostel. Younger guests are not allowed on the premises. On weekends we only accept bookings with the minimum of a 2 nights stay. We do not take any reservations through telephone. When you make a reservation through our website, your credit card will not be charged at that moment. Please read our cancellation policy for more information.
Cancellation Policy
We have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Full refund will be given if booking is cancelled 48 hours prior to the check in time (2 PM) on the day of your arrival. Failure to let us know within that time will result in us charging your first night. You accept these rules when you make your booking.
Check In and Check Out
Check In is at 2 pm. If you arrive before, you can store your bags in our luggage room. Check Out is at 11am. Please inform us if you want to stay another night during the day on the day before.
Room Key
If you lose your key, please understand that we will charge you a 40Q compensation.
Payment
Upon Check In you will be asked for identification (Passport or DPI) and to pay your stay. We work with a tab system, if you wish to have a tab, we will hold onto your identification document until you check out and pay your tab. If you want to stay in the Hostel common areas after Check Out it is possible to also pay in cash or with Card (+10% additional charge) at the bar and restaurant. All the rates include local tax requirements (12% VAT & 10% tourism tax). Please note that there is no ATM in El Paredon and we charge 10% on your bill when paying with a credit card. We accept Visa and MasterCard.
Parking
We offer free parking for our hotel guests. Please let us know if you plan on coming with more than one car, as we have a limited parking area.
House Rules. These rules apply to any guest on our premises.
1. Food and Alcohol
We do not allow for you to bring any food or alcohol from the outside. Please do not bring and eat any food in the room, we will check the room upon checkout and will ask for compensation if this rule is not followed. We have to bars for you to purchase drinks, please be respectful and not bring your own drinks. We have drinking water available for free for all our guests.
2. Smoking
Smoking is not permitted in the rooms, nor in the common area of the first floor. Any guests caught smoking in the room or upstairs will receive a 1000Q fine and ask to leave with no refunds. Our roofs are made out of palm leaves so the fire hazard is very high.
3. Drugs
Any guest found taking illegal drugs within the premises you will be asked to leave with no refunds issued. Depending on the circumstances we may contact the police if deemed necessary or required.
4. Weapons
Mellow Hostel stands for a peaceful environment and is absolutely against any kind of weapon. No guns, arms or any kind of weapon is allowed on the premises. Anyone found disrespecting this rule will be asked to leave. This rule also applies to bodyguards.
5. Attitude and Behavior
Our hostel is a place for a warm happy atmosphere of co-inhabiting. We will not allow any type of racism or homophobia. Anyone found disrespecting other guests’, staff members, neighbors, or behaving in an inappropriate or disruptive manner will be asked to leave with no refunds. We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying damage, caused by the deliberate, negligent or reckless act of the guest to the hostel’s property or structure. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to the guest’s credit / debit card, or to send an invoice for the amount to the registered address. We will of course make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialists to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum.
6. Disabled Customers
Unfortunately, due to the architecture of the Hostel it is not wheelchair accessible nor does the hostel have disabled facilities.
7. Pets
As much as we love them ourselves, unfortunately we are unable to accommodate or allow pets for our Hostel guests in all common areas and room areas, in consideration of allergy-suffering guests. We do allow pets on a leash in the restaurant area, if they behave.
8. Withdrawal of the Hostel
You accept our terms and conditions when making a booking. If the customer does not comply with the house rules and terms and conditions, the hostel will withdraw this customer from the premises. There will be no compensation. Waiver The failure of either party to enforce or insist upon compliance with any of the terms or conditions of this Agreement shall not constitute a general waiver or relinquishment of any such terms or conditions, but the same shall be and remain at all times in full force and effect.
Force Majeure
In the event either party is unable to perform its obligations under the terms of this Agreement because of acts of God, e.g. terrorism, extreme weather, labor strikes, cessation of transportation, outbreak of disease, equipment or transmission failure or damage reasonably beyond its control, or other causes reasonably beyond its control, such party shall not be liable for damages to the other for any damages resulting from such failure to perform or otherwise from such causes.
Third Party Rights
If a third party has made a reservation on behalf of the client, such third party and the client shall be jointly and severally liable to the hotel for all obligations arising out of the hotel accommodation contract.
Severance
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held by any competent authority to be invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part the validity of the other provisions of these Terms and Conditions and the remainder of the provision in question shall not be affected.
Liability
We are not liable for loss or damage regarding guest’s property nor for injuries of guests. We are not liable for loss or damage to your property during your stay, but will always put your safety first. In 1,5 years of business we haven't had any inconvenience. In no event shall we be liable for any claims, penalties, loss, damage or expenses.
