Welcome to Son of a Beach Hostel.

We are in the heart of Albufeira in a typical Algarvian house totally renovated and adapted to offer its guests the maximum comfort during their vacations.
It is located where everything happens and only just 1 minute walk from the beaches of Peneco and Pescadores. Within walking distance you can find supermarkets, pharmacies and public transport, but it is in the streets full of hustle and bustle where you will find numerous shops and restaurants where the famous fish of the region and seafood dishes are served. With the sunset, you will be tempted to get into the rhythm and sip a cocktail in one of the many bars that bring color and excitement to Albufeira until dawn.

At our reception you can inform yourself and purchase tickets for a variety of tours available. There is a bit of everything from excursions to discover the culture of our people or the very popular boat trips to see the caves and dolphins and for nature lovers, kayaking through the caves or surf circuits and SUP.

Check-In / Check-Out Policies

This property has the following check-in and check-out times and policies.

Property and Cancellation Policies :

a) The reservation confirmation is pendent on the payment of a minimum of 50% of the total cost of the reservation.The remaining 50% have to be paid up to 7 days before check-in day. Failing to pay the remaining amount in this period of time will cause the cancelling of your reservation with no rights to refund.

b) For reservations where the date of stay is less than 7 days the payment will have to be made in full.

c) Cancelling your reservation is free up to 20 days before check-in. Cancelling between 20 and 7 days up to check-in will have a cost of 50% of the total cost of the reservation. Cancelling after 7 days to check-in is subject to no refund.


Terms and Conditions

Check-In 
1.1) Check-in is done between 15:00H (3pm) and 22:00H (10pm)
1.2) Our collaborators are not authorised to check-in without prior payment, or by giving a reservation voucher of the OTAs, with which we have established a contract.
1.3)  When making the register or reservation, the guest has to identify himself and provide the receptionist with your ID, passport or equivalent. 1.4)  During check-in, you will receive a set of keys correspondent to your bunk bed in shared rooms, or a set of keys correspondent to the private suite and a code that will give you access to the entrance of the building.
1.5) If you lose the key, report this to the perception immediately. In order to assure the security of your personal belongings, the lock will be changed and we will provide you with a new key at a cost of €25.
1.6) In the exclusive case of an emergency, you can call the contacts provided at the reception.
1.7) During check-in the guest will provide a €50.00 deposit to ensure any possible damages or loss of the accommodation keys (read points 2.3 and 4.1)
1.8) Request late check-in (after 00:00h [12am]) at an extra cost of €5 per guest. 

II 
Check-Out 
2.1) Check-out is done between 9:00H (9am) and11:00H (11am)
2.2) On your day of check-out, rooms should be vacated by 11:00H (11am). Delays in returning the room may result in one extra night charge.
2.3) In exclusive and justified cases, we mayallow for a late check-out until 18:00H (6pm)
2.4) During check-out the deposit will be returned if there have been no damages to the property
2.5) Any changes in the confirmed schedule have to be justified and requested, being that this is dependant on the availability of a staff member of the Hostel.  

III 
Noise 
3.1)  Legally (Decree-law n. 9/2007, of the 17thof January) from 23:00H (11pm) to 7:00h (7am) of the next day, it is not allowed to make noise that will disturb guests and/or neighbours. Failing to do so may imply a fine of €200 to €2000. 

IV 
Damages 
4.1) Any damage done to our property that is superior to the one provided for the deposit, will result in an extra charge to your Debit/Credit Card.
4.2) Dependant on the seriousness of the damages, we will take the necessary legal actions.
4.3) The deposit will not be returned if a staff member of the hostel has to come to the hostel out of business hours to solve a problem caused by a guest.

Complaints 
5.1) We have a complaint book if necessary.
5.2) In the case of conflict, the guest can resort to CIMAAL (Centre of Information, Mediation and Arbitration ofthe Algarve) as an alternative third-party to help in the resolution of consumer conflicts.  

VI 
Security 
6.1) The Hostel is not responsible for the damage or loss of personal and valuable belongings. We recommend that every guest does travel insurance when making the reservation.
6.2) We do not have luggage storage but we try to be flexible when possible. Please confirm at the reception if it is possible for us to store your bag. If we do have the possibility to do so, we are not responsible for the damage or loss of any valuable and personal property.
6.3) Always remember to close the main door in the building, the suites, and the bed draws in the shares rooms–ensure that all are properly closed.
6.4) The entrance and stay of people that are not guests in our Hostel is prohibited, however we do open expectations being that these have to be communicated and approved at the reception. Failing to comply with this will result in the involvement of the authorities.
6.5) For your protection, the hostel has video surveillance cameras in the reception and the exterior terrace. The collection and storage of images is approved by decree-law n.128/2014.  

VII 
Prohibitions 
7.1) According to the general rules and conditions of touristic accommodation, it is not allowed inside our hostel to:
a) Smoke
b) Change the layout of the rooms.
c) Litter common and private areas.
d) The entrance and permanence of in the hostel of people under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.
e) The entrance and permanence of people who are not guests in the hostel.
f) Excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages or the consumption of drugs in the hostel.
g) Animals are not allowed inside the hostel. 

VIII
Promotions and other offers 
9.1) The Son of a Beach Hostel provides information and current promotions on our website and through other OTAs.
a)  The offers and promotions are temporary and are subject to the terms and conditions specified.  

IX 
Hygiene and Cleaning 
10.1) Cleaning of common areas in the hostel is done daily or when requested, having an additional cost.
a) Every time that a guest checks-out we assure the cleaning and change of beds.
b) A guest can request new sheets and/or towels at an extra cost of €8 or €5 accordingly, and will be delivered after the collection of the used ones.
c) If the duration of the stay exceeds 7 nights, the guest will have a change of sheets on the seventh day and fresh towels will be changed on the fourth day, those will be delivered after the collection of the used ones. Extra bed sheets and towels will have additional cost. 
d) The guest is responsible for putting the bed sheets on the bed when these are substituted by new ones.

Reservations 
11.1) Direct reservations can be made over the phone, email, website or personally, and are subject to availability.

11.2) The norms associated with reservations from OTAs are available in the several platforms.
11.3)  Without prejudice to the rules regarding reservations from OTAs, all reservations without exclusions and exceptions regardless of the channel or medium for which the reservation was made shall be governed by these Internal Regulations and by the provisions contained in the General Terms and Conditions. 

XI
Common Areas 
12.1) The norms and recommendation that regulate the utilisation ofcommon areas are affixed in the same, these being; common bathrooms, kitchen,living room and terrace.
12.2) Disrespecting the norms and recommendation disposed are subject to the loss of the deposit and to the sanctions stated in this regulation in terms of; damage, security, prohibition and/or others.
a) In situations that are not present in this regulation, appropriate legislation will be applied.
