The getaway formerly known as Chatby Lane apartments occupied this tranquil spot on the Surf Coast of Victoria for two decades before it landed in the hands of new owners in late 2021. Work has been non-stop ever since to restore and transform our apartments into the adults only peaceful and stylish get away it is today. Bookings will not be considered to be confirmed unless full payment is made.
Bookings are made on the understanding that there will be no extra guests staying in the room.
No 'schoolies' bookings will be accepted unless at the discretion of Management.
Management reserves the right to accept or reject any bookings at their discretion.
Bookings at this facility are for 1 or 2 people per room only. Any additional guests (including children) staying in rooms will attract an additional $90 charge per night per room. Management reserves the right to waive or charge this cost.
It is assumed that guests and visitors at Lorne Surf Apartments are not COVID 19 positive.
COVID 19 positive guests and visitors are not permitted on site.
Management reserves the right to claim costs from a guest or visitor associated with any cleaning or loss of trade caused by that guest or visitor who is COVID 19 positive while staying at or visiting Lorne Surf Apartments.
Pricing is subject to seasonal variation and determined by Management. All prices are GST inclusive and are subject to an additional 1.75% credit card charge.
Cancellation and Changing Bookings
Bookings made through any third party that need to be cancelled or changed need to be done by the booker through the third party (e.g. Booking.com, Air BnB)
Bookings made directly or through a third party that are cancelled more than 48 hours before 10am on the day of arrival will be fully refunded.
Bookings made directly or through a third party that are cancelled less than 48 hours before 10am on the day of arrival will incur the cost of the first night of stay. If the booking is for one night, there will be no refund unless otherwise decided by Management.
Cancelled bookings may be rescheduled pending availability of rooms. Any difference in pricing between the original and rescheduled booking will apply.
Management will make every effort to re-book cancelled bookings and refund any difference.
Any unused nights of stay will be subject to these arrangements.
Any bookings that are cancelled and require full or partial refund will be refunded the total or the unrealised portion of the original booking minus credit card charges (1.75%) incurred for the booking and will incur an additional refund credit card charge of 1.75%.
No Show or Termination
If guests do not show up for a booking or terminate their booking early after having checked in, no refund will be given unless otherwise decided by Management.
In the event that payment of all or any part of accommodation is not recieved, management reserves the right to report tthis activity to credit reporting agencies and seek all costs related to debt collection including interest, time taken and expenses incurred to recover any costs and any administration fees.
Transfer of Bookings
Bookings cannot be transferred to another party unless otherwise agreed by Management.

Check In and Check Out
The standard check in time is 2:00 pm.
The standard check out time is 10:00 am.
Early check in and late check out may be available at no extra cost pending room availability. Contact Lorne Surf Apartments via email if early check in or late check out is required.
Guests are permitted to have visitors in rooms but visitors are not permitted to stay overnight. Any breach of this arrangement may result in termination of the booking and the No Show or Termination policy may apply.
Facilities (rooms and grounds)
The facilities are not suitable for parties, end of year functions, infants and children.
Guests are expected to use the facilities for the purposes for which they are designed.
Guests and their visitors are expected to respect the privacy and amenity of other guests and visitors and the adjoining properties. Management reserves the right to immediately terminate bookings with no refund if guests and/or visitors are deemed to be unreasonably impacting the amenity of other guests and visitors and the adjoining properties.
Lorne Surf Apartments has five ground floor rooms that may be suitable for guests with accessibility requirements. Lorne Surf Apartments also has four first floor rooms only accessible by stairs. Contact Lorne Surf Apartments for further information about accessibility.
No pets are permitted on site (or to be left in cars).
On site parking is available in the car park accessed via Howard Street. No parking is permitted in the driveway accessed via Chatby Lane and no parking is permitted in the parking bays adjacent to the driveway except for the purposes of loading and unloading luggage etc. If no on site parking is available, guests will be required to park off site.
Lorne Surf Apartments is not liable for any damage to any vehicle including bicycles that are used by any guest or visitor. Lorne Surf Apartments is not liable for loss of any property from any vehicle including bicycles that are used by any guest or visitor.
No smoking is permitted indoors at any time.
The consumption of alcohol in rooms is permitted.
Damage to facilities (rooms and grounds)
Guests and visitors are expected to use the facilities in a fair and reasonable manner for which they are designed to minimise the likelihood of damage. Guests are expected to report any damage to Management as soon as possible to enable repairs with minimal disruption to guests.
Management reserves the right to seek all costs associated with any or all damage to facilities caused by guests and/or their visitors as a result of reckless and/or intentional behaviour.
Third Party Products and Services
Third party products or services may be purchased by guests during their booking and be consumed or delivered on site. In such circumstances the third party is entirely responsible for supplying the products or services to guests. Lorne Surf Apartments is in no way the supplier of the products and services and to the extent permitted by law, Lorne Surf Apartments is not liable for any failure by the third party to provide the products or services, nor for any act, error, omission, default or negligence of the third party.
Release, Indemnity and Proportionate Liability
To the extent permitted by the law, guest and visitors agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless, Lorne Surf Apartments and its current and former officers, employees, contractors, sub-contractors/consultants (including their respective employees and contractors) and agents against, from and in respect of all expenses, costs, liabilities, claims, actions, proceedings, damages, judgements and losses of any kind whatsoever (including but not limited to consequential and economic losses, property loss/damage and damages for injury, including personal injury and death) arising out of, caused by, attributable to or resulting from your booking or your stay at Lorne Surf Apartments except to the extent such expense, cost, liability, claim, action, proceeding, damage, judgement or loss arose out of, was caused by, attributable to or resulted from Lorne Surf Apartments negligence, wrongful act/omission or breach of these terms and conditions.
To the extent permitted by law the aggregate of Lorne Surf Apartments liability to a guest is limited to an amount not exceeding the amount paid by a guest for a booking.
Each indemnity in these terms and conditions is a continuing and independent obligation and survives the termination or expiry of these terms and conditions.
To the extent permitted by law, all conditions, warranties, guarantees, rights, remedies, liabilities and other terms implied or conferred by statute, custom or the general law that impose any liability or obligation on Lorne Surf Apartments are excluded under these Terms and Conditions.
Nothing contained in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies the application of any provision, the exercise of any right or remedy, or the imposition of any liability under the Australian Consumer Law or under any international consumer protection legislation, provided that, to the extent that such law permits Lorne Surf Apartments to limit its liability, then Lorne Surf Apartments liability is limited to:
- in the case of services, supplying the services again or payment of the cost of having the services supplied again; and
- in the case of goods, replacing the goods, supplying equivalent goods or repairing the goods, or payment of the cost of replacing the goods, supplying equivalent goods or having the goods repaired.
Lorne Surf Apartments is not responsible for any loss arising out of any occurrences or conditions beyond its control, including but not limited to acts of terrorism, act of God, defects in vehicles, war, strikes, theft, delay, cancellation, civil disorder, disaster, Government regulations or changes in itinerary or schedule.
All travel documents, observance of laws and government regulations are the responsibility of guests and any visitors.
Use of Information
Guests consent and authorise Lorne Surf Apartments and the relevant third party booking agencies to collect, use and disclose guest's personal information for the purposes of administering a guest's booking and providing the guests with any services associated with their booking.
Guests consent to information provided to Lorne Surf Apartments as part of a booking being used by Lorne Surf Apartments for the purpose of informing guests about offers and promotions which relate to Lorne Surf Apartments.
Lorne Surf Apartments will not provide or disclose any information about a guest provided to Lorne Surf Apartments to any person or entity other than without prior written consent from the guest.
If part or all of any clause of these Terms and Conditions is illegal, invalid or unenforceable then it will be read down to the extent necessary to ensure that it is not illegal, invalid or unenforceable, but if that is not possible, it will be severed from these Terms and Conditions and the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions will continue to have full force and effect.
