Your cancellation policy is depending on the rate that you have selected:
- Standard rate (Breakfast by Villa Amalie included): If cancelled more than 3 days before the date of arrival (15:00 Curaçao time - 3 x 24 hours), 100% is refunded. If cancelled less than 3 days before arrival, there is no refund, and you are to pay the costs of the reservation in full.
- Flexible 7 Days (Breakfast by Villa Amalie included): If cancelled more than 7 days before the date of arrival (15:00 Curaçao time), 100% is refunded. If cancelled less than 7 days before the date of arrival (15:00 Curaçao time) but more than 24 hours before the date of arrival (15:00 Curaçao time), 50% is refunded. If cancelled less than 24 hours before arrival, there is no refund, and you are to pay the costs of the reservation in full.
- Non-refundable (Breakfast by Villa Amalie included): After making the reservation, there is no refund, and you are to pay the costs of the reservation in full.
- Early booker (Breakfast by Villa Amalie included): After making the reservation, there is no refund, and you are to pay the costs of the reservation in full.
- Last minute (Breakfast by Villa Amalie included): For Last-Minute reservations, there is no refund, and you are to pay the costs of the reservation in full.
- All other rates that are not mentioned here: If no other cancellation policy has been agreed in writing between the guest, organisation, or other legal entity making the reservation, the cancellation policy is as follows: After making the reservation, there is no refund, and you are to pay the costs of the reservation in full.
Reserved Stay Flexibility ©:
Description: All reservations made directly by Villa Amalie enjoy the flexibility to change the dates of stay due to changes in arrival dates when the guest cannot arrive due to flight interruption, denied boarding, or involuntarily missing a flight connection. The coverage is as follows:
- Until 14 days before arrival (Curaçao time): The dates can be changed freely once within 12 months, and the guest is charged a change fee of USD 25 and any change in rate that might be applicable. There is no compensation if the new dates offer a lower rate or for lost days.
- Until 3 days before arrival (Curaçao time): The dates can be changed +/- 2 days, and the guest is charged a change fee of USD 25 and any change in rate that might be applicable. There is no compensation if the new dates offer a lower rate or for lost days.
Documentation: You are obligated to produce and present any documentation needed in order for Villa Amalie to evaluate your claim for Reserved Stay Flexibility ©. By presenting us with a claim, you also give us power of attorney to contact all individuals, organisations, etc., to evaluate and confirm the validity of your claim. We will guide you through all of this, should it become necessary.
Exemptions: There is no coverage if you desire to change your stay at Villa Amalie for convenience or due to a medical condition. All reservations made by an online travel agent or any other 3rd party acting on behalf of Villa Amalie are not covered.
COVID-19 Cancellation Coverage ©:
Description: If any of the persons for whom the reservation for a stay at Villa Amalie is concerned cannot arrive at Villa Amalie due to COVID-19 travel or movement restrictions, the Villa Amalie COVID-19 Cancellation Coverage is activated. - E.g. if any of the covered persons tested positive for COVID-19 in a manner that makes travelling to Curaçao as planned impossible. The coverage issues the person whose name the reservation is made a voucher for the monetary amount paid for your planned stay at Villa Amalie. The issued voucher is valid for 12 months from the initially planned arrival date. At the expiration of the 12-month period, a cash reimbursement of 75% of the total paid is granted upon request. Alternatively, the voucher's validity can be extended in segments of 3 months until a maximum of 18 months from the initially planned arrival date. If no requests have been made prior to one month after any expiration, there is no possibility of any refund/compensation, and the voucher represents thus no value.
Terms of coverage: You are obligated to follow all instructions from airlines, governmental institutions and alike and make yourself aware of the rules for travelling at the moment of booking and remain updated until the day of arrival. It is your obligation to stay informed and follow the instructions. If you do not follow the instructions - e.g. fail to get properly tested prior to departure - there is no coverage unless you can document that you will not be burdened for such failure. E.g. if the test is not ready as promised or if the rules for travelling have been changed in a manner that you have no chance of adhering to such changed rules - In such cases, you are in no way to be burdened for your failure to arrive and you will receive coverage as described above.
Documentation: You are obligated to produce and present any documentation needed in order for Villa Amalie to evaluate your claim for COVID-19 Cancellation Coverage. By presenting us with a claim, you also give us power of attorney to contact any and all individuals, organisations, medical facilities, etc. in order to evaluate and confirm the validity of your claim. We will guide you through all of this, should it become necessary.
Exemptions: There is no coverage for persons not planning to stay at Villa Amalie or in the event that you cancel your travel due to not being comfortable with travelling or if you decide not to travel due to a 3rd party being affected by COVID-19 or any other reasons not explicitly mentioned in this coverage. All reservations made by an online travel agent or any other 3rd party acting on behalf of Villa Amalie are not covered.

Extras and transports provided by Villa Amalie:
Airport transfers are not refunded if cancelled less than 24 hours prior to arrival. Other transports can be cancelled with a notice of a minimum of 2 hours. Transports ordered with less than a 2 hours notice are considered non-refundable.
Other services are not refunded if cancelled less than 24 hours before delivery/consumption or if already produced/purchased.
Terms and Conditions
- Ensure that the AC, ceiling fan and lights are turned off
- Look under the bed and in the bathroom for your belongings (You do not want to know what we sometimes find under the bed when cleaning)
- Take all your stuff with you and lock the door to your room
- If we are not there to see you off, please lock all doors and gates behind you and drop the keys in the mailbox by the gate at the street.
